A Schedule Designed for Her Success
An eight-day rotating schedule reflects Ashley Hall’s commitment to educating the whole student. By balancing extended academic blocks with dedicated time for teacher conferences, academic support, and restorative practices, the Upper School daily schedule creates space for deeper learning, stronger relationships, and a healthier, more sustainable approach to student success.
Academic Support
The Center for Academic Support (CAS) helps students succeed in Ashley Hall’s challenging college-preparatory environment through personalized academic support and skill development. By fostering strong organizational habits, effective study strategies, time management, and self-advocacy, the CAS equips students with the appropriate tools they need.
Student Life
The Upper School experience extends far beyond the classroom. Travel Opportunities
Ashley Hall's Travel Programs extend learning beyond the classroom, immersing students in meaningful experiences both domestically and abroad. Designed to enhance curriculum, these experiential learning opportunities foster global awareness and personal growth through hands-on exploration and discovery. Academic `Highlights`

Mathematics
The study of mathematics in the Upper School is intended to build increased competency and sophistication in the subject area. With a focus on developing mathematical literacy at the highest level, students have the opportunity to graduate from Ashley Hall with courses in calculus and statistics, a key to success in college mathematics programs. Course highlights include: AP® Calculus (AB) AP® Statistics Algebra III/Trigonometry Personal Finance
Science
Hands-on experiences enhance the depth of Ashley Hall’s science curriculum. Botany educators use the Ashley Hall campus as a laboratory for studying native plants, offering students authentic educational experiences. Biology, AP Biology, Chemistry, and Physics teachers capitalize on the close proximity and partnerships with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and College of Charleston. Classics
By offering a robust Classics program, Ashley Hall empowers students to express themselves confidently in English through an understanding of the implications of both Latin and Greek. All seventh and eighth-grade students are required to take Classics, and many students in the Upper School continue their studies at the higher levels. World Languages
The world language curriculum is designed with oral proficiency as the goal for all graduates. Course placement is determined by the Oral Proficiency Interview, and classes are taught with authentic cultural resources drawn from around the world. The result is a graduate who can function highly in French or Spanish-speaking countries. Students are supported by knowledgeable and dedicated world language faculty members. Technology
Through an integrated technological approach spanning multiple disciplines and courses, students explore digital media and develop and publish works of art, web pages, blogs, videos, the yearbook, and other campus publications. Robotic Engineering is available as an elective course. Technology studies continue with AP Computer Science Principles (CSP). CSP introduces students to information technology and illustrates practical applications in nearly every industry. Students can design and code their applications using JavaScript. Set against Charleston’s rich maritime history, Ashley Hall’s Offshore Leadership Program offers a signature experiential learning opportunity centered on tall-ship sail training.
