CUBS provides an athletic experience through fun, engaging activities that build foundational athletic skills and inspire a lifelong love of movement and healthy play. Spring Semester ( January 2 – April 30)
Offered to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade, the after-school dance program at Ashley Hall provides opportunities to hone skills as students progress through various levels. For students who are in kindergarten through second grade, classes will focus on technique, talent, and creativity through the study of classical ballet. Courses for students ranging from third grade through twelfth will also include instruction in jazz.
PLEASE NOTE: Performance opportunities, including the spring showcase, are only available to third through twelfth graders who sign up for BOTH the fall and spring semesters.

Colorful Science by Spark Learning | Step into a fun program where science and art collide! In this hands-on class, students will explore the magic of colors through fun experiments, colorful reactions, and creative art projects. From swirling paints to fizzing potions, students will discover how colors mix, change, and come alive—learning scientific concepts while making their own colorful messes and masterpieces. Every session will be a fun dive into both creativity and discovery!
Science Experiment Extravaganza by Spark Learning | Get ready to explore, experiment, and have a blast with science! Our STEAM program is packed with hands-on experiments, playful discoveries, and lots of bubbles, fizz, and wow moments. From mixing colorful reactions to testing fun physics tricks, every session is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. Come make science messy, magical, and totally unforgettable!
Mixed-Media Wearable Art & Accessories by Spark Learning | Unleash your creativity and make art you can wear! In this hands-on workshop, students will explore jewelry-making, polymer clay charms, fabric and ribbon accents, and fun mixed-media techniques to create one-of-a-kind accessories. From bracelets and necklaces to pins, keychains, and mini statement pieces, each participant will craft treasures that are as unique as they are.
Chess Club | Checkmate! Join us for a fun and engaging introduction to chess. Students will learn the basics of strategy, problem-solving, and sportsmanship while sharpening their critical thinking skills. Whether you’re a beginner or already know a few moves, this class is the perfect place to play, learn, and challenge friends in a friendly environment.
Mahjong | Ready to play a fun game that’s full of cool tiles, patterns, and problem-solving skills? In this class, students of all levels will learn and practice how to play American Mahjong, a traditional game that’s been loved for generations around the world! We’ll explore the colorful tiles, learn how to match and build winning hands, and practice playing in small groups. We will be using a beginner card, perfect for anyone new to the game. This class is all about learning through fun and teamwork—no experience needed!
Bon Appetit! | Explore the wonderful world of French cuisine! Students will make a new French treat each week, led by Middle School French teacher Madame Hipp. They will learn the recipes in French, tackle new kitchen skills, and hopefully learn some “Café Français” manners along the way! Each child will leave the session with a booklet of the recipes they made in French and English. Keep in mind that this camp involves cooking and eating, so please let us know in advance if your child has any dietary restrictions. Bon appetit!
Bee Club | The Bee Club will explore the world of bees through a hands-on, experiential learning opportunity to connect with the natural world and understand the bees’ critical impact on the ecosystem.
Open Art Studio with Ms. Hirsig | Bring your imagination—Ms. Hirsig will supply the rest! The art studio will be open for creative exploration with a wide variety of materials, including paint, drawing, collage, clay, sculpture, mixed media, fibers, and printmaking. Students can dive into a brand-new project or continue something they started in art class. With so many options, the possibilities are endless!
Creative Writing with Ms. Parker | Come together with a group of writers to work on your craft and share your ideas! We will examine some sample pieces of writing, spend time on our own writing, and share our creations.
Book Club | Join your fellow IP students in reading a fun, engaging new fiction novel. We’ll read the book together in class, discuss it, and share our thoughts as readers. Books and snacks provided!
Extended Day | Early School - Grade 8
Spring Semester (January 6 – May 27)
Join us for the spring semester in our after-school care program. Students enjoy a daily snack, dedicated homework time, supervised free play, and care until 6:00 p.m.

Lower School | One Day Per Week Attendance: $400

*Due to high demand and DSS ratio requirements, we are only able to offer a five-day-a-week Extended Day option for Early School families. Thank you.
Private Music Lessons | Ages 5 -18
Spring Semester (January 6 - May 27)
Serving Ashley Hall and the greater Charleston community, the private lesson program offers music instruction and performance opportunities to students of all levels, ages 5 through 18. Lessons are offered in piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, voice, music theory, and composition.

Where do I register?
Ashley Hall After School registration is now hosted on CampBrain. Ashley Hall families, please access your account via the Learning Commons. You do not need to create an account.
Non-Ashley Hall families will need to create an account or log in at ashleyhall.campbrainregistraion.com.
My child was waitlisted, what do I do?
Each program director will compile the list of registered students and ensure that each child is placed in the appropriate group. Once groups are finalized, any spaces made available will be opened to the waitlist in the order the child(ren) were registered.
When is payment due for all AHAS programming?
All fees for Ashley Hall After-School programs are now due in full upon registration. This includes Extended Day, swimming, enrichment classes, private lessons, CUBS, and dance.
Ashley Hall families will access their accounts via the Learning Commons. You do not need to create an account.
Can I be issued a refund for a session?
There are no refunds for any session once registration is completed. Credits for future programming may be considered upon written request; however, all final decisions are up to the discretion of the School. Please note that missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be prorated. Credits will not be issued for sessions scheduled to begin within two (2) weeks of the request day.
Do I need Extended Day care?
My child needs to attend Extended Day as a drop-in. How do I proceed?
To sign your child up for a drop-in Extended Day session, please make sure they are registered in our CampBrain registration system by selecting the Drop-In option under the Extended Day session.

Drop-in fees are billed to tuition accounts at the beginning of the following month.
