Special Ashley Hall Traditions
| Big Sister, Little Sister Program |
|---|
|
One of Ashley Hall’s most treasured traditions is the Big Sister, Little Sister program, which creates meaningful connections across grade levels and divisions. Each year, students are paired with older and younger buddies for special activities, celebrations, and shared experiences. Beginning in kindergarten, students are connected with a sixth grader and a senior, forming relationships that grow and evolve throughout their Ashley Hall journey—often lasting well beyond graduation. |
| Purple and white teams |
|
Beginning in fifth grade, every Ashley Hall student becomes a proud member of either the Purple Team or the White Team—one of the School’s most spirited and beloved traditions. Students whose mothers, grandmothers, or sisters attended Ashley Hall proudly continue their family legacy by joining the same team, while new students are selected at random. More than just friendly competition, the Purple and White Teams foster school pride, leadership, teamwork, and community across divisions and grade levels. Students earn points for their teams not only through athletics, but also through participation in academics, arts, service, and extracurricular activities. At the end of the year, the coveted Team Cup is awarded to the team that has demonstrated the greatest spirit and participation throughout the school year. |
| fathers & friends morning |
|
Dating back to Ashley Hall’s boarding school days, Fathers' Morning began as a cherished tradition, with resident students eagerly awaiting their fathers’ arrival to bring them home for spring vacation. Today, the tradition continues as fathers and special friends are invited to campus for a meaningful morning of activitie with students in kindergarten through grade 12. |
| the spiral walk |
|
Each spring, the Senior Class takes one final walk through campus, beginning in the division where their Ashley Hall journey first began. Students of all ages line the paths and walkways, singing cherished songs and celebrating the soon-to-be graduates as they prepare to join the long tradition of Ashley Hall alumnae. |
