September brought a strong start to the fall season for Ashley Hall Athletics, with Panther teams collecting wins, setting records, and building momentum across the court, course, trails, and pool. From an undefeated run in region play for Tennis to nearly 50 State Championship cuts in the pool, the month offered plenty to celebrate.

Volleyball Earns Road Sweep

Panther Volleyball delivered a commanding road victory over Northwood Academy, sweeping the Chargers 3–0. After battling to a 27–25 win in a tightly contested opening set, the Panthers carried that momentum through the remainder of the match, taking the next two sets 25–13 and 25–21.

Tennis Continues Undefeated Region Run

On the tennis court, the Panthers have been on a roll. Ashley Hall collected 13 match victories during the season while remaining undefeated in region competition, building momentum as the team prepares for postseason play in October.

Golf Defeats First Baptist

Panther Golf earned a strong win over First Baptist at the Charleston Municipal Golf Course, finishing with a team score of 218 to First Baptist’s 240. Lucy David led the Panthers with a low round of 48.

Cross Country Sets the Pace

Cross Country continued to make strides throughout September, with the Panthers putting in strong performances across a busy meet schedule. Natalie Bennett, Violet David, and Sophia Schauer have consistently led the way as Ashley Hall’s top three runners as the team prepares for the Region and State Championships in October.

Swimming Makes a Splash

Panther Swimming had a standout month in the pool. Ashley Hall captured the Griffon Invitational title by 31 points and has already recorded nearly 50 State Championship qualifying cuts this season.

Reves Sidebottom ’30 added another chapter to the team’s success, setting three Ashley Hall freestyle records this season. For Sidebottom, those milestones reflect years of work both individually and alongside her teammates. “We’ve been waking up every morning practicing hard, and it’s super nice to know that we are improving,” she said. “Getting the records is really rewarding. Multiple years have gone into this, so you can really tell that it’s paying off now.”

Looking Ahead

October brings championship competition, Senior Night celebrations, and the start of new seasons across Panther Athletics.

• Tennis celebrates Senior Night against Academic Magnet before beginning postseason play on October 5.

• Golf heads to Orangeburg Country Club for the State Championship beginning October 5.

• Sailing opens its competitive season with a regatta at Lake Norman on October 10.

• Swimming competes for the State Championship in North Charleston on October 10.

• Equestrian opens its season at Evermore Farm in Georgia on October 17.

• Volleyball hosts Charleston Collegiate for Senior Night on October 21.

• Cross Country celebrates Senior Night while competing in the Region Championship at First Baptist on October 21, then heads to the SCISA State Championship at Heathwood Hall on October 31.
