Mystery Treat Information | Halloween Carnival 2026

One of the most cherished stops at the Halloween Carnival is the Mystery Treat line. Each year, Ashley Hall parents put together festive treat bags filled with fun (non-edible!) surprises and drop them off during morning carpool in the days leading up to the Carnival (October 27-29).

On Carnival day (October 30), the bags are displayed in Davies Auditorium for students to pick their mystery surprise. Students in Early School through sixth grade are invited to walk through the line during the Carnival, while Upper School students in grades 7-12 may participate beginning at 1:30 p.m. It's a time-honored Ashley Hall tradition, made possible by our generous parents, and always a highlight of the day!

Donations of Mystery Treat bags are welcome (but not required). We hope you'll join the celebration! Please plan to drop your Mystery Treats off in the morning carpool line starting on Tuesday, October 27, through Thursday, October 29. There are also drop-off bins located in Pardue Hall and the Early School office.

Here are a few more things to note about Mystery Treats:

• Please keep each bag under $10 and label it with the appropriate division. For Early School, note if the bag is for a boy.

• Bags may be filled with fun items such as stickers, small toys, school supplies, jewelry, or accessories. Please do not include food or candy due to student allergies.

• Sometimes the container can be just as much fun as the treat inside, so be as creative as you want! Please avoid glass and keep in mind Ashley Hall's commitment to reducing plastic use.
