EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Extended Day Program is available to Ashley Hall students enrolled in Early School through grade 8. The program is supervised by Petra Sorelova, Director of After-School and Summer Programs.

Our Extended Day staff is composed primarily of undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Charleston's education program, who have been thoroughly vetted, similar to the School’s full-time faculty and staff.

The Extended Day program runs from dismissal until 6 p.m. daily when school is in session. Students are provided snacks and are encouraged to complete their homework. (Grades 1 through 8).

Schedule for Early School Students

2:30 - 3:00 PM Dismissal and snack
3:00 - 3:15 PM Diapering/pottying
3:15 - 6:00 PM Recess and various indoor/outdoor activities

2:30 - 3:15 PM Dismissal and snack
3:00 - 4:15 PM Recess and various indoor/outdoor activities
2:30 - 4:00 PM Variety of after-school clubs and activities
4:15 - 4:45 PM Homework time provided and snack
4:45 - 6:00 PM Recess and various indoor/outdoor activities

Student Pick Up

Pick up is available anytime throughout the afternoon. All parents and guardians are required to check in and out of Pardue Hall Reception, located at the Smith Street main campus entrance.

Late Pick-Up Fee

Extended Day ends at 6 p.m. The late pick-up fee is $15.00 per 15-minute interval. 
Repeated late pickups may result in the suspension or refusal of after-school services.

Registration Options

Pre-paid registration is available for families who wish to use Extended Day for the whole semester. Registration for fall semester opens in July and registration for the spring semester opens in November.

*Due to high demand and DSS ratio requirements, we are only able to offer a five-day-a-week Extended Day option for PrePrimary and Primary families. Thank you for your understanding.

Drop-In Option

The drop-in option is offered on a space-available basis at a rate of $35 per student, per day. Advance registration through CampBrain is required. To register, please select the Drop-In option within the Extended Day session. This step is only required once per semester and does not need to be repeated for future drop-in use. The daily drop-In fee is calculated at the end of each month and applied to your child’s tuition account.

Registration for the Extended Day Program is fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Registration is offered before the beginning of each semester. To register, visit the Learning Commons Resource Board and select the After School and Summer Programs icon. Please note that you are not required to create a new account for this program. CampBrain is linked to your Learning Commons account, offering a single sign-on option.  

All Early School students who plan to stay after school must be registered for Extended Day, except those enrolled in the CUBS after-school program, which begins immediately after dismissal.

All K–8 students who plan to stay after school must be registered for Extended Day. Students enrolled in an AHAS session that begins between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. do not need to enroll in Extended Day, provided they are picked up immediately after their AHAS program and do not return to Extended Day afterward.
Please note that the School reserves the right to deny after school services to any student or family who is unwilling to cooperate fully with the director, staff, and fellow participants.
