“I would like to thank the Loyalty Fund for allowing me to teach the joy of learning. Through the Loyalty Fund, I can teach innovative, hands-on, exploratory lessons which capture the students’ interest. I love seeing students challenged and the enthusiasm they experience when they solve a problem! Programming comes alive with the Arduino microcontrollers! Robotics allows the girls to think critically to solve problems! Because of the Loyalty Fund, our students are exposed to these unique subjects which they may choose to pursue as a career. The love of learning can incite interest in a future career. – Ashley Cook, Ashley Hall Faculty Member
Joining volunteers taking action around the world, nearly 30 Intermediate Program students spent a recent Saturday morning combing the Charleston coastline for trash. An annual effort by the Ocean Conservancy, the International Coastal Cleanup focuses on keeping the world’s coastlines and oceans clean and sustainable for ocean life. The girls, along with parents and friends, worked diligently throughout the morning picking up and documenting the refuse that was found.

Seven students from Ashley Hall’s Applied Lessons program participated in South Carolina’s first every Royal Conservatory of Music piano exams held at the University of South Carolina in late May. The students earned internationally recognized certificates and first class honors for performance and technical exercises. They also demonstrated their keen sight reading skills and sharp ear training. The young musicians study piano with Dr. Elsa Dixon and Anna Brock, Ashley Hall piano faculty.
