Congratulations to senior, Caroline Lowery, who was recently named as a Morehead-Cain Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This prestigious scholarship, as described at http://moreheadcain.org/about, includes: "Four years, four summers - fully funded; immersion in a vibrant student body; experienced advisers to introduce passion and potential to a world of opportunity; exclusive enrichment and networking opportunities - indeed a lifetime connection - with the unparalleled community of Morehead-Cains across the globe."
Caroline was originally nominated by Ashley Hall faculty members and then had to fill out an extensive written application. From the written application, she was selected as a scholarship semifinalist. (Fewer than 15 percent of nominees are chosen to advance to the semifinalist round!)
Caroline then had a Skype interview and was selected as a scholarship finalist. (Fewer than 7 percent of nominees are selected to advance to the finalist round!) At the end of February she went to Chapel Hill for her final interview weekend. 124 finalists were on campus and only 61 were chosen as Morehead recipient! PQV Caroline! We are so proud of you!
