This article lays out the guiding philosophies, thoughts and intents behind Ashley Hall's Campus Master Plan. It originally appeared in the Fall 2006 edition of Perspectives magazine.

Master Plan FAQ

Q.	Please define “long range” and “short range.”
A.	“Short range” plans are those which will be implemented almost at once, contingent, of course, on coordinating activities with existing schedules and requirements. “Long range” refers to those plans which will of necessity require a number of years to complete. It would not be amiss to regard long range phases of this Master Plan to require a decade or more to realize.

Q.	What is the time frame for the implementation of these phases?
A.	Phase I will go into effect over the summer of 2007 and be in place by the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year. In March of 2007, the Board of Trustees will meet to plan implementation of Phases II and III.

Q.	What are priorities?
A.	The first three projects to be undertaken are the Media Center, the renovation of the dining facilities, and the renovation of Lane Hall.

Q.	How soon does the dining hall need renovation? Can we just renovate existing space or do we need to add more?
A.	Combined Phases II & III will occur when the Board has put it on a timeline. We need renovation now – all existing facilities are inadequate. We will also need more space.
