McBee House
McBee House is Charleston's finest example of a suburban Regency Villa, with grand entrances and porches. The Main Floor of the historic house is the perfect setting for intimate and elegant gatherings. Together, the MacDonald Drawing Room, Hubbard Board Room, Sottile Thompson Recital Hall and porch can accommodate up to 150 people for cocktail parties and receptions. The Sottile Thompson Recital Hall has a magnificent grand piano and can accommodate up to 100 people for concerts and receptions. The lawn in front of McBee House and the garden to the west of the house are also available for outdoor events.
Other Available Facilities
Burges Auditorium can accommodate up to 100 people for a sit-down dinner, 125 for a reception, and 150 for a lecture. Burges has a small stage with podium.
Davies Auditorium can accommodate up to 200 people for dinner, 250 people for a reception, and 350 for a lecture. Davies has a large stage, podium, state-of-art lighting and sound system, a screen and a piano.
Pierce Dining Hall, located adjacent to the kitchen, can seat 180 people.
The Ashley Hall sports complex on Johns Island is also available for rent and offers a softball field, soccer field, and track. Additional Information- All Ashley Hall facilities mentioned above are handicap accessible.
- Except for handicap parking, there is no parking on the Ashley Hall campus.
- Parking lots (available after school hours) are located on Smith Street and Ogier Street.
- The kitchen facilities can accommodate all approved caterers. The kitchen is accessible to all of the above facilities. There is a service entrance to the kitchen on Radcliffe Street. Caterers may set up on Saturday and Sunday after 10:00 am unless other arrangements are made. Access during Monday-Friday must be pre-arranged. The caterer is responsible for clean-up (must provide their own cleaning supplies) and for trash removal. All spills must be treated immediately.
- A band/DJ is permitted indoors and background music is permitted outdoors. No loud music is allowed on the grounds due to the noise ordinances of Radcliffeborough.
- Smoking is prohibited in all buildings. Cash bars are not allowed anywhere on campus. Alcohol must be removed immediately following the event.
- Lanterns may be used on the grounds, but candles are not permitted in the buildings.
