Independent School Peace Fair

In 2011 fifth grade students at Ashley Hall were inspired to make a difference in girls' education in impoverished nations and around the world. They began by collecting change and selling lemonade but wanted to make more of a difference and collaborate with friends who did not attend Ashley Hall. Thus the Independent School Peace Fair was born. Now, each year students from Ashley Hall, Charleston Collegiate and Charleston Day come together to sell their handicrafts, baked goods, and special talents to raise money to promote peace through education. This fair provides an opportunity for area independent school students to unite and collaborate on supporting important needs across the planet. The event is 100 percent student driven and student run - providing students an opportunity to bring awareness and support to the global issues about which they are concerned.
