UPDATE: 2013 Peace Fair Cancelled
We are sad to announce that due to high winds and the chance of rain, the Independent School Peace Fair scheduled for May 4, has been cancelled. There is no rain date at this time. Thank you again for all your support.
Ashley Hall will hold a baked good and edibles sale on Monday, May 6. Students may bring their baked goods and perishables they made for the Fair to sell at school. We will determine a date to later sell non-perishable goods and crafts. Please contact Allison Sill at email@example.com with any further questions.
In 2011, fifth grade students at Ashley Hall were inspired to make a difference in girls' education in impoverished nations and around the world. They began by collecting change and selling lemonade but wanted to make more of a difference and collaborate with friends who did not attend Ashley Hall. Thus, the Independent School Peace Fair was born.
Now, each year students from Ashley Hall, Charleston Collegiate, Mason Prep, Porter-Gaud and Charleston Day come together to sell their handicrafts, baked goods, and special talents to raise money to promote peace through education. This fair provides an opportunity for area independent school students to unite and collaborate on supporting important needs across the planet. The event is 100 percent student driven and student run - providing students an opportunity to bring awareness and support to the global issues about which they are concerned.
