Each year Ashley Hall presents a number of chamber concerts
called the Faculty, Family and Friends
Concert Series. The concerts
take place in the McBee House Sottile-Thompson Recital Hall. The concerts feature both locally and
internationally acclaimed musicians. 2012 Family Faculty Friends Musicians:Carmit Zori
Violinist Carmit Zori has appeared as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, the Rochester Philharmonic, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Her engagements abroad have included performances throughout Latin America and Europe, as well as in Israel, Japan, Taiwan and Australia. She is currently the artistic director of the Brooklyn Chamber Music Society, which she founded in 2002, and is a member of the faculty at SUNY Purchase. She has recorded on the Arabesque, Koch International, and Elektra-Nonesuch labels.Yehonatan Berick
Currently
in the midst of a worldwide tour of the complete Paganini Caprices,
violinist Yehonatan Berick's BluRay disc of the works is due by the end
of 2012. In high demand internationally since becoming a prizewinner at
the 1993 Naumburg Violin Competition, he enjoys a busy concert schedule
as soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, and pedagogue, throughout
North America, Europe and Israel. Rieko Aizawa
Japanese pianist Rieko Aizawa, praised by the NY Times for her “impressive musicality, a crisp touch and expressive phrasing,” has performed in solo and orchestral engagements throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Aizawa has performed as a guest artist with the Guarneri Quartet, the Orion Quartet and the Shanghai Quartet, and has participated in numerous festivals. Ms. Aizawa is a founding member of Duo Prism with violinist Jesse Mills, which earned the 1st Prize at the Zinetti International Competition in Italy in 2006. With Mr. Mills, Ms. Aizawa became co-artistic director of the Alpenglow Chamber Music Festival in Colorado in 2010. Ms. Aizawa, a Steinway Artist, is on the faculty at Montclair State University in New Jersey. Edward Arron

Edward Arron has garnered recognition worldwide for his elegant
musicianship, impassioned performances, and creative programming. He has
appeared in recital, as a soloist with orchestra, and as a chamber
musician throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. The 2012-2013
season marks his 10th anniverary season as the artistic director of the
Metropolitan Museum Artists in Concert. In the fall of 2009, Mr. Arron
succeeded Charles Wadsworth as the artistic director, host, and resident
performer of the Musical Masterworks concert series in Old Lyme,
Connecticut, as well as concert series in Beaufort and Columbia, South
Carolina. He is also the artistic director of the Caramoor Virtuosi, the
resident chamber ensemble of the Caramoor International Music Festival. |
