EEC History and Social Studies

At the pre-school level, we bring a basic understanding of social structures and their functions alive by inviting students to first examine their immediate families. From this center, students gradually turn their attention outward to more complex and inclusive relationships. Broader concepts of social structures, responsibilities and obligations are all grounded in this exciting and personal understanding of how students fit into their familial systems. Social Studies then becomes an exploration of spatial boundaries between home, school, classroom, city, state, country, etc. and the interlocking networks which are the foundation of culture and community.
