Ashley Hall was Founded in 1909

by iconoclast Mary Vardrine McBee to prepare southern women to the same rigorous standards as their northern counterparts, Ashley Hall has always been a mission driven school. For more than 100 years that founding mission: To create educated women who are independent, ethically responsible and prepared to face the challenges of society with confidence, has commanded every evolution of the school's campus and program. Originally accepting boarding students the transition to a day school occurred in 1974. Students today number 650 strong and range in grade level from the 2 year olds in Pre-Primary to graduating seniors. The classes are girls only beginning in the 1st Grade.
